How to Make Artwork
The easiest way to supply files for printing Flyers is in JPG format. The following guidelines should help you get it right first time.
If you stick to the following guidelines you won't go wrong...
- Supplied with a 3mm bleed round all the edges
- Created and saved in CMYK Colourspace
- Created and saved at 300dpi resolution
- Saved and sent in JPEG or Compressed TIFF format
What is Bleed? and how do I use it?
Bleed is the extra space around the outside of your printed area. Any images on the edge of your flyer, should 'bleed' off the page; please use a 3mm bleed for all flyers. Basically your artwork will be 3mm too big in every direction. We will cut this area off once printed.
What is an advisable working area within the flyer?
Flyers always look better when you keep the text away from the edge, 5-10mm is ideal.
What resolution should I supply files at?
File resolution must be 300 dpi. NOT higher... it won't make the picture any sharper.
Do I create artwork in RGB or CMYK?
Please supply all artwork in CMYK. If you supply RGB files, we have to convert them and cannot guarantee that there wont be any colour 'shift' in the final product.
What format is best?
You can use whatever software you like to create your files, so long you supply them to us in Compressed TIFF, PDF or High Quality JPEG file in CMYK at 300dpi. We recommend using PhotoShop or Illustrator, both made by Adobe to create your artwork.
How do I get my artwork to you?
Email only right now. We've got a system being made to enable site uploads, but to be honest... What's easier than attaching two JPG's to an email and hitting send!?
Can I pay with Cheque?
No, sorry we only accept Payment upfront via credit/debit card, this keeps the ordering and delivery process as speedy as possible.
You are very cheap, does that mean you are poor quality?
On the contrary...! We are one of the best printers in the UK, and we work very very hard to keep it that way. We offer excellent quality printing at affordable prices and pass the savings on to you the customer. Just remember to recommend us to your friends and colleagues!
